    About Toast to the Coast

Join Geelong’s annual festival devoted to wine, food and music. Celebrating excellent cool climate regional wines and local produce.

The sun shined, the corks popped and the people came by the busload. Geelong’s annual Toast to the Coast Festival held over the Melbourne Cup Weekend attracted over 12,000 people.

With over 30 wineries and cellar doors across Geelong, The Bellarine, the Moorabool Valley and the Surf Coast opening their finest current releases and back vintages, visitors were spoiled for choice, enjoying the perfect Geelong weather along with the entertainment and fantastic food that was on offer across the region.

Executive Officer of Geelong Winegrower’s Association, Jo Surkitt said “Toast to the Coast was a brilliant weekend. We have had more people discover the region than ever before. Lots of local people came out to enjoy our local wines and lots of visitors have discovered our region for the first time”.

Celebrity Cooking by Paul Mercurio was a big hit with Saturday night dinner and Sunday BBQ selling out quickly. Live entertainment kept crowds entertained in what has come to be the biggest annual wine event if the region.

“We’re already planning for next year, it will be bigger and better yet again. This event wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and support of not only the local winemakers but the fantastic sponsors and supporters of our region’s wine industry” said Jo Surkitt.
