Rotary’s Camberwell Sunday Market is conducted by the Rotary Club of Balwyn (RCB) as a means of raising funds for a wide range of charities. It is assisted in the conduct of the Market by other Rotary Clubs within the City of Boroondara.

The Market has been responsible for raising nearly $9,000,000 for the community since 1976.

Quite often the 370 stalls are fully booked for seven and sometimes up to twelve weeks in advance, due to the market’s popularity. The number of visitors/shoppers visiting the market is consistently high for the whole 12 months of the year, with people coming from all over Melbourne (and interstate and overseas) to enjoy the experience.

Besides browsing for bargains and sought after collectibles, visitors can relax with a cup of coffee and food at food vans located in the market every Sunday. Public toilets are only 20 metres from the main entrance in Station Street.

Visitors are asked for a Gold Coin Donation upon entry to assist us in our endeavours to assist the needy.

Market Operating Hours

The market is up and swinging by approx. 7am every Sunday (earlier in the summer months), however stallholders are required to stop trading at 12.30pm, and to be totally packed by 1.00pm.

Operating Sundays

The market operates every Sunday of the year, apart from the following:

One or two Sundays before Christmas (the Council does not permit us to trade on any Sunday within 10 days before Christmas)

The Sunday between Christmas and New Year’s day, depending when that Sunday falls

Anzac Day, when it falls on a Sunday

The Sundays when the market is to be closed are always notified on our “Notice Board” on the Home Page of this website.

Market Location

The market is located in Station Street, Camberwell – Melway Ref: 45 J12. Station Street runs parallel with Burke Road and is one street east of Burke Road. The market is located in a 370 bay carpark directly behind the shops in Burke Road, just north of the busy Camberwell Junction.

Getting There

Public Transport

Public transport admirably serves the market. Three tram services (from the City) pass through the Camberwell Junction, where you would alight from the tram. These services are the East Burwood (Route # 75 leaves CBD via Flinders Street), Wattle Park (Route # 70 leaves CBD via Flinders Street) and Camberwell (Route # 72 leaves CBD via Swanston Street) services. A short 100 metre walk from the Camberwell Junction in the north-easterly direction (behind the shops in Burke Road) gets you to the market.

As well, the Lilydale, Ferntree Gully and Alamein train services all pass through Camberwell railway station, which is again about 100 metres from the market. The market is in a southerly direction from Camberwell railway station – walk along Railway Pde and then into Station Street.

Private Vehicle

Directly across Station Street from the market is a 700+ car park. This car park is located under the Safeway and Target shopping complex and has a two hour parking limit on Sunday mornings. Normally, this would provide ample time to browse the market (and hopefully Buy there!) and maybe have a cup of tea/coffee as well. There are two entrances to this carpark in Station Street and another entrance in Fairholm Grove, the next street east from Station Street.

Contact

Market Manager: Graham Brown
Address: P.O. BOX 257
Balwyn Vic 3103 Australia

The St Kilda Beach Night Market is a locally produced and independently run event that brings together a community of artists, crafters, designers and buyers to create a unique series of summer night markets. For ten Thursdays in summer, the Night Market bursts onto the seaside village of St Kilda to transform O’Donnell Gardens into a luminous and effervescent town square.

With close to one hundred stall-holders, the St Kilda Beach Night Market creates a unique environment for showcasing, selling and of course buying gorgeous things.

Why all the fuss?

The St Kilda Beach Night Market is a beautiful, vibrant and unique outdoor markets, attracting thousands of Melbournians and tourists alike who enjoy its magical summer twilight atmosphere.

Located in between St Kilda’s famous Acland Street and Luna Park, then tucked beneath the palms of O’Donnell Gardens, this distinctive market transforms the rolling lawns into an exotic vibrant village. Shop, eat, dance, relax, and play.

Snake your way along the paths and browse amongst the one hundred handpicked stalls. Traders, designers and producers of fashion, home-wares, arts, jewelry, produce and textiles; each selected on quality, diversity and design.

Then, on the menu – delicious home-style cooking from the kitchens of Argentina, India, Spain, Greece and Turkey, plus the best local and organic producers and suppliers. Foodies go crazy.

Snatch a patch of grass under the palms, munch on your meal and turn your ear to the beats: tiki exotica to bongo-rama. Sit if you can, twirl fire if you can’t. Kids of all ages get involved in the grooves. Drum workshops, salt air and the sunset.

Appearing on the first two Thursdays in December, the market becomes the perfect setting for Christmas shopping – outdoors, vibrant, unique and fun. Then weekly from the New Year until the end of February, come shop till you drop, catch up with friends, eat till you burst, and enjoy a warm summer’s evening in St Kilda.

The St Kilda Beach Night Market pumps with life, music and people as the sunset’s and the stars come out to play. It’s St Kilda’s edgy, contemporary and cool culture all rolled into one. Be a part of it.

The Maribyrnong Makers Market (MMM) is a not for profit community based craft market run by a volunteer group incorporated as the Maribyrnong Makers Group (MMG).

It intends to provide a forum for artists and crafts people residing in the City of Maribyrnong to promote and sell their hand made products. Our goal in running this event is to showcase the beautiful and high quality work of our local crafts people and artists; whilst welcoming visitors outside of the municipality to discover these hidden ‘Jewels of the West’.

Visitors can purchase locally made goods, meet the makers, appreciate the talents of the local community and explore the vibrant Seddon Village. The diverse range of products and charming location truly sets this market apart as a unique must come to event.

Following the development of the MMM; the MMG has extended their activities further into the community, as can be seen in the recent ground works, coordinated by the group, to the Seddon Uniting Church MMM venue.

Recently also, the MMG has taken practical steps in support of the well-loved Snapshots of Seddon initiative allowing it to continue to grow as a program and provide a great platform for people of all abilities to express their artistic talents and most importantly to have fun. For more information on this project please call Larissa on 9687 3231.
